Project 365 ~ 151
Husband asked me a few days ago "you just can't not have a project to work on can you?" Of course I cannot! In fact, I currently have THREE projects underway, with a couple more simmering in my little brain. Oh the lovely things that happen when the weather turns pleseant!

Project 365 ~ 149
Chicken decided she wanted to do the science fair. I was kind of shocked when she announced her interest but wanted to support her endeavor so we started working on it. She has a collection of beach glass and was researching how beach glass comes to be, how it's shaped and formed, and interesting little facts about these fun gems. Then we took a special trip out to the state park to find a few more pieces. It's always an exciting treasure hunt. And such a thrill to find the little sparkle among the dull gray rocks of the 'beach' along the Puget Sound.

Project 365 ~ 148
Took a day with a couple of friends to wander up to the Packwood Flea Market. What an exciting treasure hunt that was! While there were many many interesting things to look at and pretend i had space for in the house. But this this lucky little suitcase made it's way into my heart, my hand and my little idea pocket. What til you see what happens with it!

BAD DOG!
I went out to let the chickens out of their coop this morning and only four chirped out. That's odd. Went back around and peered in, sure enough, only four in there. Two have gone missing.
I searched the yard, the neighbors yards, peeked over the fences, all in the pouring rain, and found nothing. Not even a pile of feathers as evidence of a raccoon attack. I gave up, folded my umbrella and went inside. I closed the slider and looked out at the back yard wondering, "Where did they go? What happened to them." That's when I noticed it. The potato patch was not piled in neat rows anymore. Oh no. Please no.
I grabbed the rake and started moving the dirt around a bit. Part of me hoping it was just my weird dog doing her thing of not being able to leave loose dirt alone and nosed it into a big pile. But just as that thought passed through my head I saw this: a crooked claw reaching from the ground. Like some kind of creepy pet cemetary zombie. I couldn't dig any further. I called Husband and told him he had a job when he got home. *shudder*

Beautiful girl! I found a quote once when she was about 18 months old. It has fit her since then and I am pretty sure it will continue to fit as she grows. it simply says,
It’s beauty that
captures your
attention, then
personality captures
your heart.
Silly Chicken asked me to do her hair for the play at school tonight so I curled it, pinned it, and sprayed it, then she did her thing and showed off all her personality. We love you and your cooky faces my love!

I told you the sun came out! And I got a little carried away soaking up the vitamin D and weeding the front flower bed. But, oh, how glorious a day it was!

"I'n a piggy. I'n a piggy, Mama!' This fun book was given to Bitty from Mariko, the Japanese exchange student who stayed with us for a few weeks last summer. While we can't actually read the book, we are pretty sure it is at least something like "peek-a-boo". Bitty still asks for it to be read to her. She did so enjoy having Mariko here to giggle and play with.

Chicken and her sweet Queen Lilly have a crazy scheme up their sleeves. Since our dear Lilly is a complete turd and tries to sneak out every time we open the door, Chicken decided she wanted to take Lilly out for WALKS! Yes, a cat on a leash. I couldn't very well let her tote Lill around by by a tiny collar so I found this perfect, pink, tiny harness. Brought it home, adjusted the straps, and clipped it on. Poor Lilly has slunk (slinked?) around all afternoon trying to figure out how to crawl out. Hopefully in a day or two Queeny will be ready to try a leash...

Finally, amidst the grey skies and endless rain we got a break. It was even, dare I say, warm. Perfect baseball weather. And what goes better with baseball than hotdogs. Especially when you're two.
She watched "Brudder" D win his game, by the way! Way to go Orioles!!

Sisters. It's wonderful when they play together without the squealing, the arguing, the bossing. The rain went away and the sun even poked out for a few minutes. Just long enough to roll happily in the grass and give smushy wet raspberries.

Funny Story.
I was working on sanding a table top this morning. Working away until my fingers and arms were numb from the vibration of the sander. I checked my phone periodically to keep track of time. Suddenly it was 11:35, I had to RUN to get my friends' Little from school. Put Bitty in the car and drove the 2.3 blocks to the elementary school where Miss L was waiting for me. But wait a minute. Isn't that my? Yes, yes it is, it's Dog! What is Dog doing at the school!? I got out of the car and Miss L just smiled and said Dog came running up to the school before I could get there. Her teacher said Dog was well behaved and came right to Miss L and waited with her for the two minutes. Both jumped in my car, much to Bitty's delight, who giggled the whole way home.

Our dryer is not working right now. I think the venting tube came apart under the house. Husband, however, has not had time to go under there to check on it. I know, you are thinking, "But you refinish furniture and build shelves why don't you..." but no. There are spiders under there. ew. So instead I put up the clothesline and had a few moments to reflect on Grandma Del and all that she was to me, to my family. Love her, and miss her so much. Here's to you Grandma, and all the things you've taught us.
