What better for the last day of the month of love than to finish this weeks assignment, finding a heart. This one is the little statue Shad brought home for us from his last trip to Kenya. This was made IN Kenya out of natural soap stone. I love it sitting on my bookcase.

This is for the Sunday Assignment from a week ago. Yes, I realize I still need to do THIS weeks Sunday Assignment but, I'll get there. I haven't found my inspiration on that one yet. Soon.

This assignment was Tech: Re-create this image. The original image we were given is below. As you can see I took a little creative liberty and changed up the angle, but I like the representation. I suppose I could have adjusted it to b&w, but I thought the warm tones in the book pages was comforting.

It snowed today! Snow is a crazy thing. I'm able to hate it and appreciate it at the same time. It truly is beautiful, and a peaceful feeling overwhelms me as I watch it fall quietly from inside my warm home. But that tranquility is shattered the moment I step outside, into the cold, wet slickness.

I found this rock while weeding and immediately thought of the shape challenge for this month! It is painted like that because a few months ago the PSE guys were out marking our yard for where the different utility lines were, right across my garden and everything.

Dead Battery.

I really hate it when I forget to turn my camera off after downloading pictures. Then when I'm ready to take my picture for the day I have to use my crazy cell phone camera. This is the latest of my living room projects. Not a dramatic change as some of the others. But lovely just the same.

Birthday parties are fun, and exhausting, but mostly fun. And when you are turning 7 and 2 they are fun times 10! We celebrated both the girls today with friends over for cake and ice cream. It was simple, short and completely perfect!

self portrait day. wasn't feeling it today, so I cropped out everything from this photo to the one presentable part; my hands. I swear, one of these weeks I'm going to do a before and after, or perhaps a half bare half done makeup face shot or something. But boy or boy, when I don't have any make up on I kind of look like warmed over death. I do, however, LOVE the fabric on my 'new' chair!

My Moon. My Man.


Tonight the moon was SO bright (as you can see by the 'sun' flare it left behind!) It was spectacular. The clouds were incredibly dramatic...about 10 minutes before I got home to capture this. darn it.

Every other week Bitty sees a physical therapist. Last January, when she hit 11 months and still wasn't crawling, I took her in to have her evaluated. She qualified for assistance and we started a program with the Birth to Three center. Bit quickly gained new skills with each visit and by the end of summer was walking and learning to run. She now has the stairs mastered, loves to jump and hop and even walks backwards, or in circles, whatever goofy mood she prefers. I'm not entirely sure why we continue to have this bi-monthly visits with the PT but they are enjoyable and encourage her in new milestones by physically and mentally. This week they tried working on trunk strength with that blue 'peanut' ball you see in the background, but Bitty hated that ball and would have none of it. So they worked on puzzles. They were both so proud when the pieces slipped into their place.

Chicken stayed home from school today. I didn't believe her when she got up and said she needed to go back to bed. When the thermometer reached 101, however, I changed my tune! So she spent a relaxing morning on the couch watching Blue's Clues with Bitty and some corny made-for-tv movies.

Valentine's Day.
Kind of an odd picture to put up for V- day. But to be honest, it kind of symbolizes how much Husband and I really worry about the day. Which is, "Not at all."

I do, however, love the finished knobs on my completed cabinet!

I am so excited to be getting a little more floor space in the upper living room, and a whole lot storage space in the lower bonus room! YAY! Can't wait for the "Finished" photo!

Where do I begin? I hate days like these. Where I feel like there is so much that needs to get done but have no desire to do any of it. Until I am painfully reminded how chaotic and messy it all really is. If I could make a list of all the chores, and see them get marked off perhaps that would help? But what happens when new things get added and then I have to go back and redo the first seven because as the days move along the mess returns, the weeds grow back, the bikes get used, the recycle builds up, papers come home, dishes need washing...



Some days I want to just pull it ALL out, make a great big pile at the end of the driveway and put a "free" sign on it.

I know this isn't a 'correctly composed' photograph. But it is...my life.

There are two pictures today. Why? Because I couldn't just pick one! This project was started on the idea that I would take a picture to capture a memory for every day. Well, today I captured two. And here they are. First a precious moment of two sisters cuddled close on the chair peering at the screen of the iPod as their little gingerbread man makes a break for it.

A brisk, but incredibly sunny, morning greeted us today. A friend and I decided to revel in the sunshine and went down to the beach to search for more glass today. Her son, Blake, who is 5 found the most beautiful little bauble for me. This photograph doesn't even begin to do it justice, but it is a start!
