If you happened to catch my little note in there from earlier this week you'll notice that I turned 30. THIRTY! Husband, sweet man that he is, decided to throw me a birthday party. He knows not to try to surprise me, since I can read him like an open book and ruin all the surprises, so he just asked for in put. I thought it would be so much fun to celebrate being 30 by having a 30's themed party. It was such great fun!
Wonderful friends came to spend time with us, dressed up and in the spirit of the evening and truly blessed me on this day. I love them all dearly and am so grateful to have each and every one of them in my life!

Get ready for a couple of days of poor quality photos. The memories however are great.
It seems that April 1981 was a popular month to be born! There are several friends that are celebrating the big 3-0 with me this month (mine is the 24th). Started the celebrations with my friend Rachel. Unfortunately we were only able to meet up with my friend once they got to Seattle. They took a lovely fun limo down and we met them at Wild Ginger where we dined on delicious tuna, duck and bao. Six couples jumped back in the limo and headed over to the home opener for the Mariners. A sad, SAD game played by our beloved M's, but a great great time of reminiscing, laughing and looking ahead to the future.
Happy Happy Birthday my dear friend! Grateful for you and our friendship!

We got chickens!
Alright they are chicks right now and months away from providing us delicious fresh eggs. But aren't they cute!? I could just kiss them. But I won't. Because birds are dirty and gross and have germs. ew. Now to name them all...

self portrait day. wasn't feeling it today, so I cropped out everything from this photo to the one presentable part; my hands. I swear, one of these weeks I'm going to do a before and after, or perhaps a half bare half done makeup face shot or something. But boy or boy, when I don't have any make up on I kind of look like warmed over death. I do, however, LOVE the fabric on my 'new' chair!

Not what I had in mind...
About two weeks ago D informed me that he liked my hair better "when it was yellow." I was hoping to go back to my fun sparkly color I had for so long after a year or so of the brown...but it didn't work out how I'd imagined. Not sure what to do other than wear hats for a week or so until I can try again!

One silver lining...I suppose this counts as a 'self portrait'?

Following along with the theme from yesterday of new years 'resolutions' or goals as I like to call them. I am admiting, for all the world to know, that this year it is my goal to run one load of laundry EVERY day. In order to stay on top of the laundry out put of a family of five it is necessary to be running laundry all the time. With any luck and a little determination, this should be kept under control!
