Bitty refused to look at the camera for the railroad shots I wanted, but she was precious picking poppies for 'bamma'

Project 365 ~ 138

"I'n a piggy. I'n a piggy, Mama!' This fun book was given to Bitty from Mariko, the Japanese exchange student who stayed with us for a few weeks last summer. While we can't actually read the book, we are pretty sure it is at least something like "peek-a-boo". Bitty still asks for it to be read to her. She did so enjoy having Mariko here to giggle and play with.

Project 365 ~ 134

Finally, amidst the grey skies and endless rain we got a break. It was even, dare I say, warm. Perfect baseball weather. And what goes better with baseball than hotdogs. Especially when you're two.

She watched "Brudder" D win his game, by the way! Way to go Orioles!!

Project 365 ~ 128

Sisters. It's wonderful when they play together without the squealing, the arguing, the bossing. The rain went away and the sun even poked out for a few minutes. Just long enough to roll happily in the grass and give smushy wet raspberries.

Project 365 ~ 114

It's Easter!

We started the day with a wonderful service at church. I love being reminded of what it is Christ did for us on the cross, and even more what He did when He rose again!

After church we had lunch and waited for a break in the rain. We were able to sneak out to hide a few eggs and get the kiddos out while the sun came from behind the clouds for a full twenty minutes.

All in all it was a beautiful day. Thank you Lord.

oh, and, I turned 30 today.

Project 365 ~ 102

Bitty was helping me garden today.

Not much more to say about that. It's sort of self-explanatory.

Project 365 ~ 088

My Buddy and Me.

Got Bitty her first Webkinz yesterday. She hasn't put this little cat "Wee" down since she got him off the clearance shelf at the Hallmark store.

Project 365 ~ 063

I know, again with the terrible picture quality, but how could I NOT use this as my photo of the day!?

Bitty found this mascot style bull head at Husband's work and insisted on putting in on her own head exclaiming, "hat hat hat!"

Project 365 ~ 062

I'm not crazy. I'm not. I swear. But I DID have ten kids at my house this morning. Yes, TEN, and yes I was the only grown up. But in all honesty they are some of the greatest kids in the world, AND Phinneas and Ferb was on, as you can see by the glazed over look in all their eyes.

I'm not crazy about the capture. It really looks like just a snapshot to me. If anyone has any tips on how I could have gotten this image to come out looking more photographic than snapshot I'd love to hear your input. I know there is a lot of "stuff" in the background (I kind of thought about using it for my L2L about the 'big mess') so I took out the saturation and darkened it a bit, in hopes that it would bring out the children. I had a vision of them all running to the school through this ditch (always empty) that leads to the campus, and while it possibly would have happened if I just happened to bring my camera, I KNOW orchestrating 10 kids into the image in my minds eye was NOT going likely. I stuck with this solely on the basis of the blog being for the captured memories of each day this year, and let me tell you, this is a memory!

Project 365 ~ 047

Ms. Jemma.

Every other week Bitty sees a physical therapist. Last January, when she hit 11 months and still wasn't crawling, I took her in to have her evaluated. She qualified for assistance and we started a program with the Birth to Three center. Bit quickly gained new skills with each visit and by the end of summer was walking and learning to run. She now has the stairs mastered, loves to jump and hop and even walks backwards, or in circles, whatever goofy mood she prefers. I'm not entirely sure why we continue to have this bi-monthly visits with the PT but they are enjoyable and encourage her in new milestones by physically and mentally. This week they tried working on trunk strength with that blue 'peanut' ball you see in the background, but Bitty hated that ball and would have none of it. So they worked on puzzles. They were both so proud when the pieces slipped into their place.

Project 365 ~ 046

Sickies.

Chicken stayed home from school today. I didn't believe her when she got up and said she needed to go back to bed. When the thermometer reached 101, however, I changed my tune! So she spent a relaxing morning on the couch watching Blue's Clues with Bitty and some corny made-for-tv movies.

Project 365 ~ 037

Remember the silhouette photo from a couple weeks ago? Remember how I said to keep an eye out for more? Well, here's the next one in the 'series!'
Can't wait for these to be up on the wall all finished and cute!

Project 365 ~ 036

There are two pictures today. Why? Because I couldn't just pick one! This project was started on the idea that I would take a picture to capture a memory for every day. Well, today I captured two. And here they are. First a precious moment of two sisters cuddled close on the chair peering at the screen of the iPod as their little gingerbread man makes a break for it.

And second is an example of WHY we had to switch to an online version of a chore chart...

Project 365 ~ 021 L2L

Today's Entry is another Challenge completion (hopefully!) This one is for Literature to Life or L2L, a once a month challenge from Mommytography where we are given a quote and the challenge is to compose a photograph that captures the essence of that quote.

This months quote is:
"Life is a happy thing, a festival to be enjoyed rather than a drudgery to be endured."
~Luci Swindoll
