Project 365 ~ 101

Over 100 days! I'm so excited to say that I have in fact taken a picture each day so far this year. Not that they were all high quality or show stoppers, but they all helped accomplish the task at hand! For this weeks challenge we were asked to take four pictures 100 steps from our front door in celebration of crossing the 100 day mark! I took 100 steps from the main door I use and in the 'general' direction of north, south, east and west. I did have to take some liberties on those exact directions as there are houses and buildings in my way, but generally speaking.

And without further ado:

North: 100 steps north brought be to a extremely boring brown fence. and try as I might I could not get it to look at all interesting. So I turned around and there was my house. I thought, "well, it might be interesting to some one reading my blog to see my house." And trust me, it is better in black and white. We're in need of a paint job.

East: At this point there wasn't much to see but unincorporated suburban road. But the clouds were pretty awesome. And do you see that, there at the top of the frame? Blue sky!! I know I can hardly believe it myself with all this dreadful, unrelenting rain!

South: The Nasty Dogs. Just down the street from us is a little pack of chihuahuas and one Shih-tzu dog. While they are adorable and look cute, they are vicious little things! They will gnaw on my shoe, and most likely my finger if I'd let them!

West: Another dull spot. There was this big rock that has significance to my children as every day on the way home from school D, Chicken and their friends all climb on this rock, it's tradition.

HAPPY 100th!!!

Project 365 ~ 092

This weeks assignment was I Spy: Green. When we were at the little aquarium at Redondo today I saw these urchin guys. What fun!

perspective

I thought it might be fun to take a picture of D from the OTHER end of the bat. So for this weeks assignment I'm hoping this fulfills the requirements!

Sunday Assignment: I Spy (Heart)

What better for the last day of the month of love than to finish this weeks assignment, finding a heart. This one is the little statue Shad brought home for us from his last trip to Kenya. This was made IN Kenya out of natural soap stone. I love it sitting on my bookcase.

Sunday Assignment: E&E - Love

These are Husband's and my feet.

There is no greater love than this: That a man let his wife put her cold feet on his warm ones.

Project 365 ~ 055

better late than never.

This is for the Sunday Assignment from a week ago. Yes, I realize I still need to do THIS weeks Sunday Assignment but, I'll get there. I haven't found my inspiration on that one yet. Soon.

This assignment was Tech: Re-create this image. The original image we were given is below. As you can see I took a little creative liberty and changed up the angle, but I like the representation. I suppose I could have adjusted it to b&w, but I thought the warm tones in the book pages was comforting.

Project 365 ~ 029

It was Saturday. Somehow I'd made it through the WHOLE week knowing what I wanted to do for the Sunday Assignment - I Spy "Ball", yet never took it! So, while letterboxing with Chicken and our fun friend Blake I 'spied' a sad ball, on a sad gray bench, on a wet rainy day. To add to the sadness I did NOT have my camera (a Sony A350) with me and had to use my cellphone camera! GAH! But I did it because I guess a real photographer uses whatever is at their disposal, right? (though a REAL photographer probably never leaves the house without a decent camera either, hey!?) Anyway, here it is, my entry for "Ball:"

Project 365 ~ 022*

Excited. It's so silly the things you get excited about once you become a full fledged adult, mom, wife, home owner, budget keeper, grocery shopper, owie fixer, diaper changer, oh...sorry...forgot what I was describing for a minute. ANYWAY. Excitement. Lately I've been couponing again. Mostly at RiteAid, and a little at other stores where there is a steal of a deal, with little mental preparation needed, tonight was a last minute run to rite aid to grab a few more of the deals on things that our family will use up. I went thinking I was just going to get vitamin c gummies and if I was lucky some vitamin D. little did I know I'd get all this:

If you can't tell...that is 8 bags of potato skins (no I didn't clear the shelf, there were plenty left as I was leaving!), 2 light sensetive plug in timer switches, two boxes of Viactiv calcium chews, 2 bottles of Ester-C gummies, 1 "Family" sign, 1 bottle of B complex and 1 bottle of vitamin D. For a grand total of $5.55 OUT OF POCKET! In addition to that you can see my receipt, which has $16 worth of +UP rewards, AND 3 more $1.00 off coupons to use on my next trip. I'd say that was a pretty successful run!

So, exciting. Yeah, that's exciting for this mom, wife, woman.
